Why should I join a sorority?
There are so many reasons to join a sorority! Friendship, academic development, a home away from home, sisterhood, leadership, personal growth, commitment to common ideals, community service projects, social events, campus involvement, the list goes on and on! Membership in Alpha Omicron Pi is a special bond that lasts a lifetime. Sorority membership does not end when you graduate from college. The friends you make and the bonds you form while in college will last a lifetime. From attending alumnae events to career networking, membership in Alpha Omicron Pi can be a rewarding experience along the path to individual, professional and spiritual growth.
How do I join your sorority?
If you wish to participate in Formal Recruitment, you are encouraged to attend the week-long event that happens about two weeks into the Fall semester.
What is formal recruitment?
Formal recruitment takes place two weeks after classes start each Fall. All three sororities at Columbus State participate in Formal recruitment. The week consists of structured events and gives potential members a chance to visit every sorority and meet members from each chapter. Recruitment for sororities is a mutual selection process.
Would you like to Recommend a Potential New Member?
Any initiated member of AOII, in good standing, may complete a Membership Information Form (MIF) on behalf of a potential new member. If you know of a legacy or any young women considering the recruitment process at Columbus State University, we strongly encourage you to submit a MIF and/ or a Legacy Information Form to:

What is a bid?
A bid is an official card from the sorority that is an invitation for membership.
A Message to the Potential New Member from the Recruiting Team at AOII:
Dear Upcoming Freshmen,
Welcome to Columbus State University! Although you are probably somewhat nervous about coming to college, this time in your life is full of excitement and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Just one of the countless opportunities here at CSU is becoming involved in the Greek community.
Being in a sorority opens so many doors for young women. AOII is involved in every aspect of CSU student life. Your calendar will always be full with many philanthropic, social, and campus activities. Most importantly, however, joining a sorority will lead you to meet some of the best friends of your life. Once you become close to the ladies in your sorority, you will wonder how you ever lived without them!
If you have any questions, please visit http://clubs-orgs.colstate.edu/npc/. Have a great summer, and we look forward to seeing each of you in the fall!
Yours truly,
